Samuel is a service-connected disabled veteran, having served in the US Army Reserves, Active Army, South Carolina Army National Guard and retiring from the Virginia Army National Guard (Total military service: 1984-2005). He is a veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf War and has many service-related awards and commendations. He has served in many civilian capacities from laborer to Chief Executive Officer and others, also with numerous commendations. He holds a baccalaureate degree in Religion & Philosophy, graduate coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership & Management and Divinity, numerous continuing education, vocational and technical courses including Nonprofit Management from Duke University. While Samuel is a proud American Veteran with many life-long accomplishments, he would give it all back for a lifetime free of chronic mental and physical pain and serve again!
